Frequently Asked Questions
Why did the organization’s name change?
Until 2021, the five Ronald McDonald Houses across North Carolina were operated under a state board, Ronald McDonald House Charities of North Carolina (RMHC-NC). Ronald McDonald House Charities® Global advocated for the dissolution of the state charity in favor of individual chapters so each could better serve families. Ronald McDonald House of Eastern North Carolina at Greenville, Inc. officially became Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern North Carolina, Inc. on November 12, 2021.
Will donations stay local?
Yes! All donations made to RMHC of Eastern NC go directly to supporting families all across Eastern North Carolina. Donors may choose to support a specific program or fund, or they may make a contribution to the overall organization.
What is RMHC-ENC’s service area?
Our service area reaches over 50 of North Carolina’s counties. However, our reach does not stop there! We have families from all over the state, as well as families from out-of-state.
Does this affect funds raised at local McDonald’s restaurants?
Solidifying RMHC of Eastern North Carolina as a sole entity provides the opportunity for donations and funds raised from McDonald’s restaurants in the region to be streamlined to better support our programs. Click here to learn more about our relationship with McDonald’s.
Has the mission statement changed?

Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Eastern North Carolina provides a temporary home, support and access to medical care for families of children who are receiving treatment from area medical facilities.
What branding changes are being made in wake of the name change?
